How to Feed Top Stock & Top Flock buckets to Cattle & Sheep

  • Place buckets over the entire grazing area to maximise grass utilisation and prevent localised poaching
  • Minimise pasture damage by regularly moving the feeding sites
  • Ensure there is proper access indoors - recommend 1 bucket to every 15 cattle / 30 ewes
  • In the summer increase this ratio 1:20 (cattle) / 1:50 (sheep)
  • Intake of product may initially be higher than stated whilst the livestock become familiar with the bucket feeding
  • Intakes generally increase if placed near water
  • In adverse weather conditions place bucket near shelter
  • Always offer buckets free access with ad lib forage or grazing
  • With sheep, make sure cattle bucket licks containing copper are not available
